Trail Tips:

  • As you walk out of the front door and down the driveway, you can turn right to take the Green Mountain Trail down to the lake or you can turn left to take the Green Mountain Trail to the rest of the Aska Trail System.

    • Turning Right (Green Mountain Trail to Blue Ridge Lake) - As you walk off the driveway you immediately begin the decent to the lake. About 3/4 mile later you’ll reach the lake, however you can continue on the trail for another 3/4 mile (about 1.5 miles total from the house) to reach the Green Mountain Trail parking area off of Bear Lane. Looking for a little more? You can continue down the peninsula for another mile for some spectacular views of the lake.

    • Turning Left (Green Mountain Trail to Long Branch Loop, Flat Creek Loop, or Stanley Gap Trail) - As you walk off the driveway you will begin a slow, steady climb up the mountain. You will come to a sign for the Long Branch Connector. For the easiest hike of the group, turn left and take the connector to Long Branch Loop. The total hike will be around 3.25 miles (roundtrip) from the house. If you’re looking for something more challenging, bypass the connector to continue on the Green Mountain Trail towards Aska Road, which is about 1.75 miles (one-way) from the house. From there, you can cross Aska Rd and continue on Flat Creek Loop or take the most challenging of the group, Stanley Gap Trail.
